Many of the ancient cosmologies talk of the Earth being created out of earth, water, air and fire. A few years ago I was part of a geomancy group that created a kind of acupuncture point for Earth. We were lead by Marko Pogacnik who inspired us with thirty-three small meditations that we were then asked to draw into symbolic pictures which we then carved onto stone pillars.
This is the granite pillar that I carved at Fox Hollow Farm close to Louisville, Kentucky.
The experience was a bit like creating a Stonehenge site. As we sank the pillars into the ground, we sounded the meditation for each pillar and offered them as a grounding for Earth.
Ancient civilizations knew that rocks can hold memory and I have personally experienced this on our farm in Ecuador. An Ecuadorian elder/shaman who has visited us and, on his next trip, is going to explain the memory that the rocks hold in this ancient sacred Chirusco Valley.
Just as we can change the structure of water crystals through our thoughts and words, as proven by Dr. Emoto, so can we help the Earth heal by putting our thoughts and actions into rocks with the help of ceremony.
I hope this article reinforces for you the power of meditation. My hope is that 100,000 people or more will enjoy, love and appreciate nature for a few minutes every day and then send that reverence and love to Fukushima and the Pacific Ocean. Reconnecting with Mother Earth on a daily basis will not only help you but our Mother as well.
